RETIREMENT flats on the site of the former Ritz cinema in Harborough will be completed by spring 2014, the firm behind the project has said.

Contractors have been demolishing the Northampton Road building over the past few weeks in time for work on the new building to begin in February.

The scheme will comprise 51 flats supported by a live-in lodge manager.

Churchill Retirement Living, which is behind the scheme, told the Mail this week it will begin marketing three ground-floor units set aside for offices and shops in 12 to 18 months time.
