Driver airlifted to hospital after serious accident

A ROAD has been closed after a serious accident in Dingley this morning (Friday, December 21).

Police were called at 6.30am today (Friday) to reports of an accident on the A427.

Two cars were involved in the collision.

The driver of one vehicle suffered minor injuries and has been taken to Kettering General Hospital, while the second driver has been taken to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry by air ambulance with serious injuries.

The A427 remains closed while both vehicles are recovered from the road and an investigation takes place.

It is not known when the road will re-open, however it is expected to be closed for at least several more hours and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
