Debs puts best foot forward to help cancer charity
Medal winner...Swinford woman Debs de Vries at the end of the Walk for One Million in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer.
A SWINFORD woman helped raise almost £700 by taking part in a 10km walk in the grounds of Knebworth House earlier this month.
Debs de Vries was one of more than 400 walkers in the event, called Target Ovarian Cancer’s Walk for One Million.
While she raised £674, the walk is expected to raise about £118,000 in total. Debs was leading a team of walkers called Express the Goddess.
Clare Horwood, Head of Fundraising at Target Ovarian Cancer says: “It was wonderful to see so many people making a difference to women with ovarian cancer. Debs’ £674 is an amazing total to have raised - we’re very grateful to Debs and everyone that sponsored her. It will make a big difference to helping to improve the UK’s terrible survival rates.”
