Controversial homes plan given go-ahead

A DEVELOPMENT of 150 homes south of Brixworth was approved by planners last night (Wednesday).

Daventry District Council’s planning committee gave the gho-ahead to the plans by Barratt Homes for land east of Northampton Road.

The housing development, which includes a new play area, car park and access road, had been recommended for approval by planning officers despite the council receiving 175 letters of objection.

The planning application was also opposed by Brixworth, Scaldwell and Boughton Parish Councils.

See next Thursday’s paper for more.
