Community man Rob is congratulated following honour

A stalwart of the Great Oxendon community who received the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s New Year Honours List has been congratulated by the parish council.

Rob Barker organises the village youth club, sits on the parish council, chairs the village hall committee, coaches at Market Harborough Rugby Club and Clipston Primary and is a member of the Leicestershire Society of Rugby Union Referees.

The council presented Mr Barker with a bottle of champagne at its meeting on Wednesday last week to say congratulations.
