Coffee and cakes on offer for antiques shoppers

AN ANTIQUES dealership has opened a coffee room to cater for the needs of thirsty shoppers.
Kibworth Antiques Centre, in Leicester Road, is now serving hot and cold drinks as well as a selection of cakes.
Centre director Sharron Andrews said the coffee room was always in her plans.
She said: “We opened the centre on October 6, and we always planned to add a coffee room as an extra service for our customers.”
And on Saturday they did just that, with Sharron saying the first week has been a success.
“It’s located right in the middle of the centre, and we’ve had lots of compliments,” she said.
She is keen to emphasise that the coffee room will reflect the local nature of everything in the centre. The cakes are all produced by bakers in the area, and the coffee is locally sourced, coming from the Manor Coffee Roastery in Wilbarston.
There’s always a good variety, from sponges to scones, as well as several types of coffee and tea. There are soft drinks and snacks for youngsters, and gluten/dairy-free cakes for those with allergies.
Sharron added: “The location, on a main road, is perfect for a coffee room. Customers tend to spend a long time in the centre too, so it’s nice to be able to offer them something.”
The cakes are competitively priced, and not just for the obvious reasons.
“With the antiques, we have a wide variety on offer to cater to everyone, and we have tried to reflect that in the coffee room,” she said.
AJ’s coffee room is named after Sharron’s two children Alice and James.
