Broughton Astley homes to receive village surveys

SURVEYS are to be sent to every home in a Lutterworth area village to get views on how it should develop in the future.

Residents in Broughton Astley have been told to expect the surveys to land on their doormat in late August or early September.

They will pose a number of questions about what people think should be the priorities in the future and where development should take place.

Christine Lord, parish manager at Broughton Astley Parish Council, said the survey is the next step in the village’s Big Plan and follow up on a public consultation event which was held at the village hall earlier this month.

She added: “We had a really good response to the consultation event.

“People expressed their views on a number of areas. One of the main things people seemed to be concerned about was the future medical provision in the village.

“The idea of the survey is to make sure that everyone has a chance to have their say.”

Later this year a neighbourhood plan will be drawn up and people will be asked their views on whether they agree with the contents at a referendum – currently scheduled to take place in November.
