BREAKING NEWS: roadworks on A6 Leicester Road to be extended

Roadworks in Leicester Road are being extended.

PUT-UPON motorists in Harborough are facing a further day of roadworks along a key route in Harborough.

There has been major disruption in the town over the past few days due to resurfacing works on the A6 Leicester Road and another road closure at Scotland Road/Braybrooke Road.

Traffic bosses announced this morning (Friday) that ‘due to inclement weather earlier this week’ the Leicester Road works will be extended by another day.

The road will be closed until about 5pm tomorrow (Saturday).

The closure is in place from the junction of Alvington Way to the Airfield Business Park along the A6.

The alternative routes are via Great Bowden or via Gallow Field Road, Foxton Road, Main Street, Lubenham Hill, Coventry Road and Fairfield Road.

It has been the Summer of Roadworks in Harborough after the town endured the High Street being closed off for the fourth time in seven years.
