Auction of interesting promises for deserving causes

DRIVING a model steam train, a spa pampering session and a day behind the scenes at the Harborough Mail are among the lots at an auction of promises event.

The Rotary Club of Harborough is holding the Auction of Amazing Promises on Friday, October 26, at Harborough’s Robert Smyth Academy where auctioneer John Gilding of Gildings Auctioneers fame will be leading the way. It starts at 7.30pm (doors 7pm).

Money raised will be going to the county’s Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, the Hope and Homes for Children charity and to other Rotary-supported charities. Rotarians, friends and firms have gathered a range of promises such as a day at the Mail, a hosted weekend on a canal boat, a sauna and supper, a day at Harborough FM, a golf lesson, a spa day at Rushton Hall, half a day’s gardening, a guided tour of Kelmarsh Hall and professional wine-buying tuition.

All the lots are listed at website www.gildings.co.uk.

Everybody is welcome and tickets are free, available from any Rotarian or on the door on the night. All attendees will be entered into a prize draw and there will be a bar available.

For more details, to arrange absentee bidding or to offer a promise, phone Janet Meek on 01858 545448.
