Arts Fresco 2012 cancelled in favour of scaled-down event

STREET festival Arts Fresco - one of Harborough’s biggest annual events - has been cancelled for this year.

Organisers are planning instead to hold a scaled-down version of the event during the Olympic Torch Relay through town on Monday, July 2, and hope to move the main Arts Fresco festival to May next year.

The Arts Fresco street festival, held each September, has become one of Harborough’s biggest annual events in recent years, attracting thousands of visitors.

But it has suffered funding issues in recent years and there was some criticism of last year’s event when it was moved from the town centre to Welland Park.
