Appeal to shops to display poster entries

SHOP owners are being asked to display posters from a competition promoting the work of the Royal British Legion.

The theme for the poster competition, which is open to young people but also has a category for people of all ages, is the Legion and its work.

It is hoped schools will take on the competition as a project and it is hoped shops will display the work in their shop windows.

The posters will be no larger than A3 size and will help to mark the month of remembrance in the town.

People wishing to enter the competition should drop entries off at the Mail in Northampton Road, Harborough or post them to RBL Poster Competition, 5 Manor Road, Fleckney, LE8 8TN before 5pm on Saturday, October 27.

Shops who are able to display posters in their windows should contact John Standish of the Harborough branch of the Royal British Legion on mhrblchair@hotmail.co.uk.

There will be a small prize for the winner of each of the four categories.
