Alice named as candidate for Young Apprentice
Alice Smith
A FARMER’S daughter from the Lutterworth area has been unveiled as a candidate on BBC business show Young Apprentice.
Alice Smith (17) already makes money by selling free range eggs and was revealed as one of the show’s 12 contestants this week.
The programme is fronted by Lord Alan Sugar and is a junior version of the programme, which aims to find great business minds.
The winner of the junior version of the programme collects a £25,000 business development grant to kick-start their career.
In her preview interview for the programme, Alice said: “I come at things from a completely different angle, although I am not saying they are completely the right angle.
“I have not seen someone on the show with the same range of skills I believe I have.
“I am outspoken and demanding. I would not say I am arrogant but I am sure I am always right.”
She is a Leicester Tigers fan and says her aim is to promote awareness of the medical condition endometriosis.
Alice said she also aimed to keep people ‘on-side’ during the show because she felt that was a way everyone would enjoy their tasks and make them more successful.
Young Apprentice starts on Thursday, November 1, at 8pm on BBC One.
