Air Ambulance scrambled after rider falls from horse
A HORSERIDER was airlifted to hospital after suffering an open fracture in a fall.
The 36-year-old woman was riding near Husbands Bosworth at about 11am yesterday (Monday) when she fell.
The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called because and gave pain relief to the woman before putting a splint on her injured arm.
She was then airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
The WNAA said it was called to the scene because horse riding accidents often happen in rural areas which are difficult for land ambulances to reach.
About 10 per cent of all rescue missions attended by WNAA are of an equestrian nature a spokesman for the WNAA said..
