Harborough’s famous clothing retailer Joules has launched a new range of eyewear with a town shop showcasing the new spectacles.
The company held a launch weekend at Vision Express in St Mary’s Place shopping centre, Harborough, earlier this month to celebrate the launch of its new collection.
Shoppers could have free eye screenings and get goodie bags while viewing the new 32-piece eyewear collection, which was launched in London at the end of April.
The Vision Express store, was given a “Joules makeover” and dressed in countryside finery including large artificial coloured animals.
The Joules collection is a distinctive range, featuring vibrant colours and signature prints .
The hand-crafted pieces, inspired by the Great British country and coast, include sunglasses and optical frames for women and children.
Tom Joule, founder of the firm, said: “We’re extremely proud of the first Joules eyewear collection, launched exclusively with our friends at Vision Express.
“We’ve developed this range in response to customer demand and worked hard to make sure each frame is true to the Joules brand, reflecting our country heritage, sense of humour and fun with colour and prints.”
Joining in with the celebrations were mum and daughter Sarah and Tsisti Zendera from Leicester.
Tsisti (20) is a campaigner for the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT), the nominated charity of Vision Express.
As a young child she had a rare eye cancer called retinoblastoma, which left her with no vision in her left eye.
Over the next year, Vision Express in Market Harborough has set a target to raise £1,000 to help CHECT support families and to fund vital research into retinoblastoma.
