A group of community-minded volunteers have held their latest town tidy up - picking up trash dumped by others.

Members of Market Harborough Environment Group were joined on their regular litter pick by a local group of geo-cachers and staff from Sainsbury’s.

The clean team concentrated on outlying areas of Harborough, including the lay-by on the Leicester Road, Caxton Street area, paths alongside Little Bowden recreation ground, and the start of the Brampton Valley Way.

Volunteers collected 17 bags of litter, mostly bottles, tins, paper receipts and plastic but also found a mattress and a broken car windscreen that had been fly-tipped in an unadopted road.

Members of the group litter pick their own designated patch as well as a monthly river clean up along the Welland, and the group litter picks every 3 months.
