A Market Harborough based hearing clinic is hosting an open day to showcase the latest developments and products available for those with hearing conditions.

Since opening the practice at Archway Health Hub on Lubenham Hill, The Hearing Centre has introduced a number of technical advances including new treatments for tinnitus that relieves symptoms during sleep, and advances in hearing aids to suit specific situations inside and outside.

Claire Marshall, senior audiologist at The Hearing Centre, said: “We’re looking forward to showcasing the latest technology that is available and are offering free hearing tests to the public as a way of raising awareness.

“Sadly too many people put up with poor hearing which can impact on their ability to socialise or even to work.

“The good news is that in many cases help is available that can make a significant difference.

“We want to make people aware of the options open to them for conditions including tinnitus by running this free open day.”

Tinnitus is one of the most common hearing problems with around 10 per cent of the adult population now affected.

Claire added: “Most people just accept it as a condition that they have to put up with.

“A cure hasn’t yet been found for tinnitus, but we can help ensure a better quality of life no matter what type, and no matter how long you have had it.

“In fact, a lot can be done to treat tinnitus and almost eliminate the discomfort that it causes.”

Through an exclusive partnership with The Tinnitus Clinic, a UK private provider of tinnitus treatment and management, The Hearing Centre has access to a range of pioneering therapies.

The Hearing Centre provide a comprehensive range of audiological tests and treatments, including hearing tests, hearing aid fittings, wax removal, tinnitus treatments, noise protection and swimming protection.

The free open day event takes place on Thursday, August 4, from 10am to 3pm.
