Driver dies ten days after crash in the district

A motorist has died following a car crash in the Harborough district earlier this month, police said today (Monday).

The crash happened at around 10am on Tuesday, January 14, in Lutterworth Road, Gilmorton, near to the The Grey Goose pub.

The collision involved three vehicles, a white VW Tiguan, a silver Toyota Yaris and a stationary blue Peugeot 206.

The driver of the Yaris was taken to the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire where he died on Friday, police said.

The driver of the Tiguan was not injured.

The VW Tiguan was travelling towards Lutterworth while the Toyota Yaris was travelling in the opposite direction. The Peugeot 206 was parked and unattended at the time of the crash.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim.

Detective Constable Nick Bryan, the investigating officer, said: “We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw either vehicle beforehand to please get in touch.”
