Video: Future of policing discussed
CHIEF Constable of Leicestershire Police Simon Cole spoke at a high-profile meeting in Harborough to discuss the future of policing in the county.
He was joined by chairman of Leicestershire Police Authority Barrie Roper and the organisation’s chief executive and treasurer, Paul Stock.
Together, they spoke about the force’s successes, budgetary constraints facing the police as well as about the imminent arrival of a new governance structure, which will see the introduction of a directly-elected Police and Crime Commisioner for the county.
The meeting was held at Harborough District Council’s offices, in Adam and Eve Street, last night (Wednesday, January 25).
Presentations were heard before the meeting was opened up to a question and answer session.
