Teens charged over armed robbery

FOUR teenagers have been charged following an armed robbery at Houghton on the Hill on Sunday as well as four others in the city over the same weekend.

The youths - a 15-year-old, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old - have been charged with robbery and a firearms offence under Section 18 of the Firearms Act.

A statement from Leicestershire police said: “These charges relate to the incident at a petrol station in Houghton-on-the-Hill on Sunday October 14.

“They have also been charged with conspiracy to rob in relation to incidents at Uppingham Road in Leicester, Humberstone Lane in Thurmaston, Saffron Lane in Leicester and Cardinals Walk in Netherhall.”

They are all due to appear before Leicester Youth Court today (Thursday, October 18), said police.
