Teenager injured in street attack
Angus Whittall
A TEENAGER from the Harborough area was beaten with his own crutches during an attack in a town street.
Angus Whittall (15) was assaulted as he walked with his friends from a party in Rothwell.
He was punched to the ground before being hit by his own crutches, which he had been using while recovering from an operation.
His mum Cathy Whittall was driving to Rothwell to pick her son up and said the attack ended as she drove up to the scene.
The police were called and Angus was taken to Kettering General Hospital, where he received stitches.
No arrests have been made following the incident, at about 10.45pm on Saturday, July 29, and Mrs Whittall has now launched an online petition calling on police to arrest suspects of violence more quickly.
Police appealed for witnesses to contact them on the 101 hotline.
