Street attack being treated as robbery

A MAN was punched in the face several times before the attacker forced him to hand over money in what police are calling an unprovoked attack.

It happened at about 1.30am in the early hours of the Bank Holiday Monday in St Mary’s Road, Harborough.

The victim, a 27-year-old, was approached by three men and one of the three later became aggressive and threw punches.

Harborough police are treating the incident as a robbery.

The attacker is described as about 22 years old, with spiky brown hair and was wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and jeans.

One of the other three, who did not throw any punches, was wearing a green shirt.

Police are appaealing for witnesses and are now looking through CCTV cameras.
