Staff threatened at knife-point during raid
AN ARMED robber threatened shop staff with a knife during a raid on a Harborough newsagent.
He stole cash and cigarettes during the robbery at Montgomery News in Bath Street at about 2.30pm on Friday.
No-one was hurt in the incident.
A police forensic team was working at the shop on Friday afternoon.
Now officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The man has been described as white, aged between 20 and 22 years old, about 5ft ins tall, of slim build with a thin face.
He was clean shaven and was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood pulled up.
A police spokesmand said: “Police were called at approximately 2.30pm on Friday (March 23) following the report of a robbery at a shop in Bath Street, Harborough.
“A man had entered the shop and threatened staff with what has been described as a knife.
“The man stole a quantity of cash and some cigarettes before leaving the shop.
“No-one was injured during the incident.
“Officers investigating the robbery have already carried out enquiries in the area and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”
