Reward is offered over cashpoint raid

A REWARD of up to £25,000 is being offered for information about an attempt to break into a cash machine in Lutterworth.

Thieves tried to get into the one of the cash points outside the Morrisons supermarket in Bitteswell Road in the early hours of Friday, October 5.

LINK, the UK’s cash machine network, is working in partnership with independent charity, Crimestoppers to offer rewards for information relating to cash machine crime.

It is offering rewards of up to £25,000 for information related to cash machine crime and is urging people to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with any information relating to attack in Luttwerworth.

Information can be given completely anonymously and there is no need for anyone to leave any personal information, said the group.

LINK spokesman Graham Mott said: “We’re urging the public to come forward with any information that they may have about cash machine crime, for example card skimming or physical attacks on cash machines themselves.”

Link has released a video on YouTube highlighting the importance of shielding your pin when using a cash machine.
