No fresh leads in hunt for death-crash driver

NO NEW leads have emerged in the hunt for a driver who failed to stop at the scene of a crash which killed a Broughton Astley man.

Simon Ware (44), was killed in Ashby Road, Bitteswell, on December 19 last year when he was struck by two vehicles, a van and a car.

The van stopped at the scene but the car carried on driving.

Mr Ware’s widow Dee (53) has put up a £5,000 reward to try and trace the motorist behind the wheel of the car.

However, a spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told the Mail on Friday that despite the re-appeal and reward, they are yet to receive any new information about the incident.

Mr Ware had been for a job interview in Loughborough on the day of his death and Mrs Ware said she did not know why he would be in Bitteswell.

Anyone with information should phone Det Con Ady Keeble by phoning the police 101 hotline or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
