Man assaulted in town centre
A MAN was attacked in Lutterworth town centre after he was targeted by a group outside a takeaway.
Police are looking for witnesses to the attack, which happened at about 2.45am on Saturday, May 5.
Sgt Peter Jelbert, of Lutterworth Police, said the victim had been drinking at the Fox Inn and went home, before returning to the town centre a couple of hours later to get something to eat.
However, as he was passing Pizzaman, in Church Street, a group of men began pushing him.
Sgt Jelbert said: “He walked up to the Memorial Gardens where he saw one of his friends, but the next thing he knew he had been struck on the mouth.”
His attacker is described as being of medium build, with short brown hair and was wearing skinny-style trousers and a light-coloured top.
Anyone with information should phone police on 101.
