Fresh appeal after Great Glen fight

A FRESH appeal has been launched by police investigating a fight in Great Glen in which a man was injured.

The incident happened sometime between 2.30pm and 3.15pm on Saturday August 11, when a 47-year-old man was approached by a second man in Great Glen Park, Bindley’s Lane.

A statement issued today (Tuesday, September 18) as part of the re-appeal said: “The second man, a passenger from a white Saab parked nearby, had approached the first man and the pair became involved in an altercation, which resulted in one of the men receiving injuries to his face.

“The injured man was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary by the ambulance service for treatment to his injuries.

“A 44-year-old man has been spoken to as part of the investigation but no arrests have been made.”

Detective Constable Steve Hadden, the investigating officer, said: “We have carried out various enquiries and have spoken to a number of witnesses who have been really helpful.

“However, we are still keen to know more about the incident and would like to urge anyone who was in the park that day to get in touch. There were a number of people on the park when the incident happened and some people attempted to break up the altercation. I would urge those people to call us direct and help us with our investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 906 Steve Hadden by dialing the 101 hotline.

Follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 0906.
