Drink driving arrests

ARRESTS were made for drink driving after damage was caused in villages in the Harborough district.

A man (38) and woman (32) were arrested for drink driving.

Damage was caused in Kibworth, Husbands Bosworth and Smeeton Westerby shortly before 9pm yesterday (Thursday).

In Husbands Bosworth a vehicle hit a wall and stationary vehicle, in Kibworth a vehicle hit the wall of a home and another stationary vehicle and in Smeeton Westerby the vehicle hit a wall.

Sgt Nick Everitt, of Harborough Police, said: “Clearly this was a very dangerous thing to do. It is only good luck that there were no injuries.

“Motorists who decide to enjoy a drink in the warm weather must leave the car behind. Getting a taxi is a lot cheaper in the long run.”
