CCTV images of a man who police are eager to trace have been released after a shop in Lutterworth town centre had three of its windows smashed.

The shop, in Church Street, was targeted at about 7.15pm on Tuesday, January 24.

Officers have released the image, and a description, in hopes of tracing the man.

He is described as white, between about 45 and 55-years-old, and of medium build.

He was wearing a high-visibility jacket with a hood, which shows up as bright white on the CCTV image, distinctive glasses and dark trousers.

PC Sarah Clarke, the investigating officer, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen a man fitting this description in the Church Street area of Lutterworth to contact us.

“Any information, no matter how unimportant it seems, may help us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Clarke on 101.

Once you have phoned, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 4713.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free and anonymous, on 0800 555111.

4 Lutterworth has welcomed a new police sergeant this week.

Sgt Pete Jelbert, who was previously based at Market Harborough Police Station, has taken on the senior role at the Gilmorton Road Police Station.

He has replaced Sgt Steve Bunn, who has become a neighbourhood sergeant in the Harborough and Bowdens beat area.
