Arrests following car’s trail of destruction

A MAN and a woman have been charged with drink driving after a car left a trail of destruction through the district.

Police were called after a vehicle hit a wall and a parked car in Husbands Bosworth, a wall in Smeeton Westerby, and the wall of a house and a second parked car in Kibworth shortly - all within minutes of each other shortly after 9pm last Thursday.

Police arrested a 38-year-old man with drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of two accidents.

A 32-year-old woman was also arrested and charged with drink driving and driving without insurance.

They are due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 13.
