Agricultural machinery worth £40,000 stolen in raid
AGRICULTURAL equipment worth more than £40,000 has been stolen in a raid on a Harborough business.
It was taken from Kirby Agricultural in Leicester Road, after the firm’s compound was broken into some time between 2pm on Saturday, October 6 and 8am on Monday, October 8.
Police say a ‘substantial amount’ of agricultural equipment was taken in the raid.
PC Gary Hunt is investigating the incident. He said: “We believe that the perpetrators may attempt to sell the items to scrap metal dealers and we have been carrying out enquiries to try and locate the property.
“We do urge anyone who has been approached by someone selling these items or maybe knows someone who has acquired some agricultural equipment to contact us.
“The equipment is valuable and will end up costing the company some considerable amount money to replace.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 316 Gary Hunt on the 101 hotline.
Follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 0316.
