An epic aerobics session is being held in Little Bowden to help boost the charity funds of a London Marthon runner.
Personal trainer Sophie Albert, who lives in Kibworth is organising the six-hour aerobathon at Little Bowden School tomorrow (Saturday).
It will consist of six hours of aerobics, which Sophie will be leading, with 20-minute breaks every two hours to re-fuel.
Sophie has raised more than £200 to date but hopes the aerobathon willhelp her reach her fundraising goal of £2,000.
She is taking part in the London Marthon for the third year in a row and needs to reach this total as a minimum which will go to the charity Children with Cancer.
Sophie said: “When I am out training and the pain barrier kicks in, I think about the children that have to suffer with cancer on a daily basis.
“They have no choice, however my pain is over after a few hours and if I can raise money for Children with Cancer through my running, it is the very least I can do to help.”
Sophie, who works as a personal trainer at Pure Gym in Leicester as well as running her own personal training company called Body Business, is hoping to beat the four-hour mark this year, having finsihed last year in a time of 4hours 31mins.
The areobathon runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm and there will be freebies on the day and health-related refreshments for sale to help boost the charity total.
The school has allowed Sophie to use its premises for free, so all cash raised will go to the cause.
Sophie said: “The areobathon will be a great day for all to participate in and is open to adults and children, both male and female.
“I’m putting together a lively selection of music, so it should be a really fun day.”
It costs £3 to take part, and £1.50 for under-14s. Everyone is welcome to join in for as little or as long as they like.
