Harborough’s police commander has a new role working alongside the county’s police and crime commissioner Sir Clive Loader.
Insp Paul McKinder, pictured left above with Sir Clive, will head up public engagement programmes and support a new Youth Commission aiming to give young people a say in policing policies.
Insp McKinder said: “It is important for the voice of local people to be heard, forming an on-going dialogue with Sir Clive to support, challenge and inform his work.
“I look forward to developing ways in which local communities and young people can contribute to shaping the future of policing in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.”
Temporary inspector Phil Durrant will cover Insp McKinder’s role at Harborough during the secondment.
