A TRIO of new doctors have started work at Harborough Medical Centre.
Dr Amna Ahmad, Dr Stacey Harrison and Dr Bella Smith, who started last month, have all joined from a variety of different clinical backgrounds and will help the practice provide more appointments and a wider range of services .
Dr Ahmad trained as a doctor at Birmingham University and as a GP in Leicestershire. Dr Harrison trained as a doctor at Leeds University and as a GP in London. She has a specialist interest in accident and emergency medicine.
Dr Smith trained at Nottingham University and as a GP in London. She has a specialist interest in cosmetic surgery.
Dr Fiona Bishop from the surgery said: “We very much welcome these new doctors to our clinical team and to be able to offer our patients more appointments in advance and on the day.”
There are now 20 doctors working at the centre and its surgery branch in Husbands Bosworth.
4 An open day is being held at Harborough Medical Centre on Saturday from 10am-2pm. People can pop in and talk to staff and other organisations about health and well-being matters such as nursing home care, diabetes, private healthcare, nutrition, winter warmth and dementia.
Dr Ruth Eardley will also be having her hair cut off for charity on the day.
