Final Harborough comedy evening is fundraiser for former student

The creator and organiser of the event, Chris Wells, began hosting the evenings four years ago and a number of comedians have gone on to perform at venues in Leicester.

This Saturday’s club is being run in conjunction with Harborough Rotaract Club and some of the profits from the evening are being donated to Anthony Pollard, a former Robert Smyth student who needs to raise £2,000 by July 1 for a place at the National Youth Theatre. The remainder will be donated to Harborough-area charities. Anthony has also performed at the comedy evenings.

Organiser Chris said: “There will be a fully stocked and licensed bar as well as super-tasty tasty food including pizza. It will also contain confectionary courtesy of amazing cakemakers Compton and Kennedy. There will also be a crazy awesome raffle of wonderment. Due to Anthony’s time as head prefect at Smyth, a comedy club member since the start as well as an active Rotaractor, I wanted to help him the only way I knew how; a fabulous comedy event that will also function as a farewell for the club.”

Doors open at 6.30pm. Entry £5 on the door.
