GRANTS for the creation of new bridleways or footpaths are on offer to communities, organisations and rural businesses.
Natural England’s £2m Paths for Communities’ scheme offers people the chance to bid for money to create new walking routes.
Farm shop cafes or rural visitor centres could create walks to add to their attraction while riding centres could gain more bridleways.
Villages could pursue new routes to make the local path network better connected and more attractive.
Leicestershire Local Access Forum is highlighting the scheme to parish councils, famrers’ and landowners’ representatives, rural businesses and to the Leicestershire Rural Partnership and Rural Community Council.
