A coffee morning is being held in the Harborough district this weekend to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
The event is being held at Glenbrook in Saddington Road, Mowsley, at 10.30am on Saturday.
Organiser Pauline Dawes has also arranged for stalls selling greetings cards, plants, paintings, bags, Fair Trade items, produce and bring-and-buy.
There will also be a raffle.
The suggested entrance fee is £1 (free for children) and all are welcome.
Macmillan provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support for those affected by cancer and their families.
*Meanwhile, kettles are set to boil in unison across the Harborough area later this month for the ever-popular World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.
The annual event, in its 24th year in 2014, is the biggest single fundraiser for Macmillan and nets millions of pounds nationwide every time.
This year it is taking place on Friday, September 26.
Several people have already contacted the Mail to let us know about their events.
They include quick-off-the-mark Dawn and Tracy, from Harborough, who are holding an event at the Coach and Horses pub in Lubenham between 9am and midday on the Friday of the event.
They are inviting people to donate a cake or just go along and enjoy a cuppa.
A warm welcome also awaits visitors to Claybrooke Magna Village Hall on September 26 where villagers and members of Claybrooke School PTA will be serving up coffee, tea, scrummy cakes and biscuits in aid of the cause between 9.30am and midday.
The Mail will be previewing all the events in the area – all you have to do is let us know.
