COMEDIAN Ade Edmondson paid a visit to a Harborough delicatessen to sample its delights.

The former Young Ones and Bottom star called in at Emerson and Wests in Northampton Road to taste its delicious Harborough Cheesecake.

He was filming for his Ade In Britain TV series, which sees him travelling the country tasting the best food it has to offer.

The shop’s famous Harborough Cheesecakes follow the same family recipe that was first used in 1886.

Ade declined the Mail’s polite request for an interview, but Stuart West of Emerson and West said afterwards: “He was interested in the history of the cheesecakes. He tried them and really liked the taste.”

It is the second time in recent weeks a star has visited the town to film for a TV series, after top chef Heston Blumenthal held a biscuit ‘dunk-off’ underneath the Old Grammar School.

The episode of Ade In Britain featuring Harborough is due to be broadcast towards the end of the year.
