Travel firm announces branch closures in Harborough and Lutterworth

Branches of Thomas Cook in Harborough and Lutterworth are to close as part of a restructuring programme at the holiday firm.

The job losses - 16 per cent of its 15,500 workforce in the UK and Ireland - will impact workers across its retail network as well as administration and back-office staff.

Thomas Cook said the moves were being made as part of a restructuring and to slash administration costs.

The firm has not named which stores will close so the position of the branch in St Mary’s Place in Harborough is not clear at this stage.
