A TATTOO artist is aiming to ink up Harborough with his new venture.

Dave Burnell, better known as Burnie to friends and customers, has been a tattoo artist for about five years – but owning his own tattoo parlour is a new venture for the Harborough man.

He has opened his new shop at 64a St Mary’s Road – called 76Inc – at the former home of Fit Clothing.

Burnie said: “I’ve been a tattoo artist for a number of years and I’ve worked at other places in the area, but running my own place is something completely new to me.

“We had to completely change the inside of the shop because I wanted to provide a contemporary setting.

“Tattoos are an ever-popular trend even though fashions change.”

Burnie is being helped out in his new venture by apprentice tattoo artist Hannah Peck, who is from Desborough.

He added: “We offer many styles of tattooing – from traditional designs to customised art work.

“Myself and Hannah will assist in the design and personalisation of your tattoo, whether it is small and understated, or a bold masterpiece.”

The shop, which opened officially in late April, is open between Tuesday and Saturday, from 9.30am to 5.30pm.

Burnie said: “As from tomorrow, running through to Saturday, June 30, all paying customers will be entered into a prize draw. The winner will be given a two-hour tattoo session.

For more information, contact the shop directly on 01858 468173 or visit www.facebook.com/76IncTattoo.

The Facebook page also includes a number of examples of work carried out at 76Inc. Anyone wishing to get a tattoo must be aged 18 and over.
