More than 800 families were invited to Magna Park near Lutterworth for a fun day to celebrate the distribution centre’s 25th anniversary.
Magna Park was built in 1988 on the site of former air base RAF Bitteswell, which was used during the Second World War.
It is now home to more than 7,000 employees and is the UK distribution hub for many big firms including BT, Toyota, Disney, Nissan, Primark, DHL, Wincanton, Asda, Britvic and Costco.
One of its largest clients is Asda’s fashion arm George which has a 10,000 square metre warehouse at the site.
Site owners Gazely UK organised a community open day on Saturday, October 5, to mark its quarter-century.
A host of Lutterworth area businesses and more than 800 families were invited to the fun day which included a funfair, stalls and demonstrations.
Gazely UK marketing director Nick Brown said: “It was a fun-filled day of activities and excitement at Magna Park. Over the past 25 years it has been redeveloped into the UK and Europe’s largest logistics park.”
