Retail giant Waitrose is putting its weight behind the annual Late Night Shopping extravaganza in Harborough.
The town’s store, which opened in September last year, has been heavily involved in the planning for this year’s event, which is taking place on Friday, December 6.
As well as putting up a sizeable donation towards the cost of running the event and sitting on the Late Night Shopping committee, the supermarket will be holding a food-tasting court at its Springfield Street base.
It will be pumping money into the event from its Community Matters scheme and is taking on the task of running the raffle.
Meanwhile, entertainers and musicians are still being sought. There have been several acts to come forward so far but there is still space available for displays, singers, exhibitors or musicians.
With thousands of people set to attend the event, it provides a great platform for groups to raise their profile or to recruit further members.
Anyone interested in performing at the event should contact committee members Jill Griffiths or Mark Faulkner of Andrew Granger & Co estate agents on 01858 431315.
It was confirmed earlier this month that the real reindeer, which have proved a bit hit with youngsters in previous years, will be making a return for 2013.
Leicester Tigers rugby players mat also be attending as special guests on the night, and the town’s Carnival Queen will be the judge for the best-dressed staff and best shop window competitions.
And the committee will be unveiling a fresh new logo soon.
The committee is also seeking a new barrel for drawing the winning araffle tickets.
If you can help, call Jill or Mark on 01858 431315.
