Joules selling Rampant brand due to ‘its own big success’
ONE of the district’s biggest employers has moved to quash speculation that jobs are at risk.
It emerged on Friday that Joules Clothing, based at The Point business park in Harborough, wants to sell its Rampant Clothing division.
The Mail received a call this week from an anonymous source claiming jobs were being put at risk by the sale.
But Joules strongly denied the claim this week and said Rampant has simply outgrown the current structure at Joules.
Dominie Cripps, the firm’s PR spokesman, said Rampant is run as a separate 20-person division within the Joules office in Harborough and that no full-time jobs have been put at risk.
She said there has already been ‘significant interest’ in Rampant and that Joules is seeking a responsible buyer.
Richard Hurtley, managing director and founder of Rampant, told trade publication Drapers: “We are at a stage where we need to be able to focus directly on our needs in the next period of growth.”
Joules bought Rampant in 2010.
