A fashion industry expert from the Harborough district is heading up a new children’s clothing brand.
Philippa Cloete is preparing to release Angel and Rocket, a new selection of clothing described as ‘comfortable and affordable ’ with more than 50 different styles online this autumn.
Philippa, who has previously worked for Next and Marks & Spencer and as head of buying for Topshop, lives in Hallaton with her husband and two young children.
She has decided to pursue her dream of creating her own brand, which will be launched next month.
She said: “I’ve always been passionate about design and being able to analyse the finer detail, which I’ve translated into the look and feel of Angel and Rocket.
“From our first collection you can expect a chalked colour palette, gorgeous soft yarns and hand-drawn graphics of animals such as a hare and a beetle.”
Having built solid relationships with British suppliers over the years, Philippa has been able to draw on industry contacts to help source yarns and fabrics from top manufacturers around the world.
Philippa is partnering Kate Botstock, who is also highly respected in the industry, to create the brand.
Kate said: “I’ve always had a strong affinity to children’s clothing, and launching a new brand is very exciting.
“Philippa has done a great job bringing this to life in a short time-frame, and I wish her and the team every success.”
The selling price for one item in the collection will be about £35.
Her website will officially go live on September 18, and shoppers can register now to preview the collection 24 hours before the launch.
