Farmers supported by antique evening
Kelmarsh Hall is to hold a huge charity auction in aid of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution. Market Harborough auctioneers John (sitting) & Mark Gilding from Gildings Auctions will be on hand to help with the evening's events. TREASURES lying in your loft and displayed above the fireplace can now be valued at a special auction evening to be held at Kelmarsh Hall.
On October 1, Gildings auctioneers of Harborough will host an auction preview evening at the hall to raise money for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).
The event will take the form of an antiques roadshow evening where guests can bring items from home to be valued by the Gildings team.
There will also be future sale items on display and the team at Gildings will give some background on some of the more special lots.
It has been sponsored by NFU Mutual, East Haddon Hill and King West.
Langton Breweries and Duncan Murray Wines will be there to serve refreshments and to offer wine and beer from their gift lists.
It is hoped that the evening will raise thousands of pounds for the farming charity the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
The charity provides support for members of the farming community who are in need, throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Milly Wastie, East Midlands regional manager of the charity, said: “I am completely overwhelmed with the support RABI has received so far and I hope the evening proves to be a success.
“Farmers are currently busying away getting in the harvest and not often do people take the time to appreciate what troubles they might face if they fall ill, have an accident or fall foul to animal disease or crop failure.
“RABI provides practical and financial support to farmers, farmer workers and their families during such times and helps to keep people in farming or help them to retire with dignity.”
Tickets for the auction are available for £10 which includes refreshments. They can be bought by calling Milly Wastie on 07525 323450 or emailing milly.wastie@rabi.org.uk.
Event doors open at 7pm and entrance is by ticket only.
