Farm shop wins regional awards
A FARM shop in Harborough has won the local foods category in a competition by the Countryside Alliance.
Farndon Fields Farm Shop won the regional section for the category and is now in the running to win the national award at an awards ceremony in London.
The shop in Farndon Road, Harborough, was nominated for the award by customers.
Nicola Stokes, who is in charge of marketing at the shop, said this makes the award all the more special than had it been one for which they had put themselves forward.
The shop won the award because of the great choice it has available as well as providing customers with a plant shop, butchers’ counter, deli, cafe selling farm produce and plant centre.
Farndon Fields Farm Shop was also praised for its commitment to conservation and education.
The farm shop regularly invites primary school children to the farm and also Kevin and Milly Stokes regularly talk to schools about farming.
They also take care of wildlife with dedicated areas for animals and birds to thrive.
