There’s change in the air for Harborough air conditioning company Climate Care Systems after it was bought by established town electrical firm Alden Electrical.

Steve Alden, managing director of St Mary’s Road firm Alden Electrical, is taking over as managing director of Climate Care Systems, which is the largest air conditioning business in the district.

Climate Care Systems’ founder Trevor Lake will continue to work with the firm throughout the takeover and beyond.

Established in 1980, Alden Electrical provides electrical services to retailers and residents in the Harborough area.

It has also helped organise the Christmas trees and lights for town firms on behalf of the Chamber of Trade for several years.

Climate Care Systems was founded in 1999 and has secured local, regional and national contracts.

It supplies, installs, services and maintains all types of climate control systems.

Commenting on the takeover, new managing director Mr Alden said: “We think this will be a very positive move for both companies.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to take over as managing director of Climate Care Systems and continue to work with Trevor to ensure the highest level of service in the coming years.

“Both companies have established a strong reputation in the Harborough area and beyond, and I hope to continue building that reputation.”

Mr Lake said: “I decided a change in ownership would be the best move as I ease off involvement and work towards retirement. Steve is a long-time friend and business colleague and will be ideal for taking over the day-to-day running of the company.”
