Elaine promises something for a sweet tooth

AN OLD fashioned-style sweet shop has opened its doors in Harborough and is celebrating with its official opening tomorrow (Friday, April 20) at 3.15pm.

The shop, called Mix’d Bag, is in Nelson Street at the home of the former Cut Price Carpets shop opposite the Catholic Church.

It has been taken over by Harborough woman Elaine Harrald, who lives only yards away.

She said: “I live near the shop and I know how many people walk past and how busy it is, and when it came available I thought it was too good an opportunity to miss.

“The shop is like an old fashioned sweet shop but I am also selling handicrafts and I am hoping to get artists to display their work so I can sell it for a commission.”

Tomorrow’s official opening will feature free cup cakes and balloons for children and there will also be a clown.
