Drivers’ strike disrupts train services through Harborough.

TRAIN services at Harborough station have been disrupted today (Tues) due to a drivers’ dispute over pensions.

Limited services are running today with further union action planned for this Thursday, and then again on Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Train drivers’ union Aslef is in dispute with operators East Midlands Trains over members’ pensions contributions.

Passengers are advised to check train information in advance at www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk

East Midlands Trains said other train operators will be accepting East Midlands Trains tickets today and on May 3 and said details of alternative travel routes are available on their website. On its website the company said: “If you decide not to travel, as a result of the strike action, and would like to cancel your booking, you will be able to get a refund. Please call 0870 333 4875. (Lines are open 8am-10pm, 7 days a week. Please note that calls to this number will cost 10p per minute from a BT landline. Calls from other operators or from abroad may vary.)”
