Date for six-week roadworks confirmed

ROADWORKS lasting for six weeks along a major road in Kibworth will start on Tuesday.

The Mail reported last week that the work could start at any time in the next 18 months but bosses at National Grid released a statement on Tuesday giving a date for the work.

It is investing £75,000 to renew gas mains along a 630-metre stretch of Leicester Road from The Coach and Horses pub to the entrance with Lodge Close.

Work is being carried out by Morrison Utility Services.

Two-way traffic lights will be in place and a diversion to enable access to Main Street.

Project manager Martin Woodward said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and will make every effort to minimise disruption.”
