County firms can beat the recession according to survey
AN ORGANISATION which aims to boost businesses in Leicestershire has said that county firms are well-placed to beat the recession.
Andrew Bacon, chairman of the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP), revealed his optimism even after it news that the national economy had gone into recession.
He said: “It’s very disappointing that the national economy is in recession but our recent business survey shows that Leicestershire firms are well placed to withstand this situation. Our survey showed that half of the 1,000 firms who responded predict an increase in turnover next year and 64 per cent planning to recruit.”

The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) has been created to boost the economy and bring jobs to the city and county.
